The West Section of Sami Abdul Rahman Park is one of the most important and active parts of the largest green area in Erbil city. This section is located on the left or western side of the massive park, which spans over an area of 200 hectares (built on the remnants of the former Fifth Corps military camp of the Ba'ath regime). 🌳 Key Features of the West Section: • Sports & Leisure Environment: It features vast green spaces and dedicated tracks for running and walking, where athletes and citizens visit daily for mental relaxation and physical health. • Artificial Lakes: This section offers a beautiful water scenery that runs alongside the walking paths, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for families. • Children's Playgrounds & Amenities: It includes dedicated areas for children's games, along with cafeterias, food and ice cream kiosks, and public restrooms. • Proximity & Accessibility: This section is close to the Erbil-Mosul road and the 60-meter street, located right opposite the Kurdistan Parliament and the Council of Ministers buildings. 🕒 Opening Hours & General Information: • Opening Hours: The west section of the park is always accessible, welcoming visitors daily from 05:30 AM to 11:59 PM. • Admission Fee: Entrance is completely free of charge for everyone. • Accessibility for Disabled People: The entrances and parking lots are fully adapted for wheelchair users. • Payment Method: Purchases at the kiosks and cafeterias inside the park are cash-only.
